Rental terms

Version: 2026-07-16-draft

1. The rental

This agreement is between you (the rider) and MayBe MyBee, a United Electric Vehicles brand, for the rental of an electric motorcycle (a Bee) from a MayBe MyBee station (a Beehive) in The Gambia.

Rentals run in rolling 24-hour periods from your pickup time, minimum 3 days, maximum 28 days per booking. Pickup and return happen at a Beehive during opening hours (08:00–22:00). Every rental includes one full charge (Royal Jelly).

2. Who can ride

You must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driving license covering motorcycles, and present a passport or national ID. Documents are uploaded in the BeeApp or shown to your Beekeeper at pickup — no documents, no handover.

You may hold up to 3 overlapping bookings. The Bee may only be ridden by you.

3. Price and payment

The rental rate is €10 per day, payable by card or in cash at pickup. Prices shown in the BeeApp at the time of booking are final.

Cancellation is free any time before the rental starts. Once started, ending early does not refund unused days.

4. Deposit

A deposit is collected in person at pickup — never charged online: €100 (1–7 days), €150 (8–14 days), €200 (15–21 days), €250 (22–28 days).

The deposit is refunded in full at clean, on-time return. New damage, missing equipment, or late return may be deducted from the deposit; any deduction is documented with a written reason.

5. Return, renewal, and late returns

Return the Bee to the agreed Beehive by your return time, with the key, helmet, and charger. A Beekeeper checks the Bee in against a return checklist.

There are no in-app extensions. Need it longer? Renew with a new contract at the Beehive before your return time. Businesses in The Gambia can ask about a B2B leasing contract.

A Bee not returned by its return time is overdue. You will be contacted; continued failure to return the Bee may result in loss of the deposit, recovery costs, and a report to the authorities.

6. Your responsibilities

Ride legally and safely: wear the helmet, follow Gambian traffic law, and don't ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

You are responsible for the Bee from pickup to check-in: keep it locked when parked, charge it only with the supplied charger or at a Honeycomb partner location, and report accidents, damage, or theft to your Beekeeper immediately.

Fines, penalties, and damage caused by misuse are your responsibility.

7. Our responsibilities

We hand over the Bee charged, roadworthy, and with the included equipment. If a Bee develops a fault that isn't your doing, we replace it or refund the unused days.

8. Protection and liability

Protection is provided directly by MayBe MyBee — we build and maintain the Bees ourselves — not by a third-party insurer.

Standard cover, included with every rental, is on us: mechanical or electrical failures, battery faults caused by manufacturing defects, normal wear and tear, routine maintenance, flat tires caused by normal wear, and roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns.

Without BeeCare, you are responsible for accident damage, scratches and dents, trailer damage, theft, lost equipment, battery damage caused by misuse, and damage from negligence or reckless driving — up to the repair cost or replacement value of the vehicle. Your deposit comes first: new damage found at the return check is deducted from it, per the documented return checklist.

BeeCare Protection (optional, €6 per day) covers accident damage, body panels, frame and chassis repairs, cargo trailer damage, tires and wheels, mirrors and lights, water damage from heavy rain (not intentional submersion), battery damage caused by an accident, theft protection under the conditions below, free roadside recovery, and a replacement vehicle subject to availability. With BeeCare, your maximum cost is a €100 excess per incident.

BeeCare never covers: driving under the influence, intentional damage, unauthorized drivers, racing or commercial misuse, ignoring dashboard warnings leading to further damage, lost equipment, battery tampering, or removing the GPS/IoT device.

Theft protection applies only if all of the following are met: the Bee was properly secured and locked when parked, you kept your unique access PIN confidential, the theft is reported to MayBe MyBee immediately, a police report is filed within 24 hours, and you fully cooperate with the investigation and recovery. Every Bee is equipped with GPS tracking; MayBe MyBee may use vehicle data to verify the circumstances of an incident.

[PLACEHOLDER — third-party liability (injury to others or damage to their property) to be completed after legal review.]

9. Data and governing law

We store your booking, contact, and document-verification data to operate the service. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of The Gambia.
